| Is it possible to store the camera images on a server in a long-term archive? |

The camera is able to store images on another computer time- or event-controlled. This can be done via an ISDN connection (via FTP on a web server) or by storing the images via the network on a file server (Windows 2000, XP prof., NT or Unix/Linux), which results in considerably higher performance. When using file server storage, the MOBOTIX camera is able to access, view, possibly delete and allocate the stored images to a new storage location. The optional ring buffer can also be used for this purpose (as soon as the maximum storage capacity on the data carrier has been reached, the oldest images will automatically be deleted to make room for the new ones). The functionality described is included directly in the camera (except for the Basic and Web models) and on the corresponding computer systems, which eliminates any need to install additional software either on the camera or on the file server. When storing images via FTP (on a remote web server or a local FTP server), the MOBOTIX camera can no longer directly access files once they have been stored. This is then done using other programs (e.g. a web browser). |
